Color Stories: A Waldorf Watercolor Journey 5 to 9 yrs

1 hr 1 Session $25. per Participant

A creative journey inspired by plants, legends, and the natural world

In this nurturing art class rooted in the Waldorf approach, children are invited to explore the beauty and wonder of watercolor painting in a calm, supportive environment. Designed for ages 5 to 9, each session gently guides children into the world of wet-on-wet watercolor—a process where colors flow, mix, and come alive on the page.

This process-centered experience allows children to develop comfort and confidence with watercolor as a medium, while slowly learning how to create images through the simple joy of painting. As they explore the magic of color mixing, they’ll witness how red and blue swirl into violet or how yellow meets blue to form green—moments that inspire awe and awaken a deeper connection to the natural world.

Each class begins with a story, verse, or quiet nature observation to set the tone. Over time, children naturally deepen their ability to focus, observe, and express themselves through art.

Thematic Options

We also offer themed painting classes that tie in with seasonal stories or studies in other subjects. Whether your child is learning about botany, inspired by stories of Saints, or drawn to the bold imagery of Norse mythology, we can create a class that weaves these themes beautifully into the watercolor experience.

Let’s collaborate! If you have an idea or theme in mind, we’d love to help bring it to life through art.

All Materials will be supplied.

We’ll be working with some messy (and fun!) materials, so we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little creative with. Smocks or aprons are totally optional—but they can be a great extra layer if you’d like!
