Turn the discarded into dynamic art.
Join us for a hands-on, inspiring workshop where you'll explore the world of assemblage art—a creative process that transforms found, recycled, and “throwaway” materials into compelling visual stories. Inspired by legendary artists like Louise Nevelson, Joseph Cornell, and Betye Saar, this class encourages you to see beauty and potential in the overlooked.
Through guided instruction, discussion, and experimentation
How to thoughtfully arrange materials using key principles of composition
Techniques for layering, balancing, and unifying objects into a cohesive artwork
How to create a bold finished piece using paint or gesso to bring it all together
Whether you're a student, a maker, or someone looking to reconnect with your creativity, this class is a unique opportunity to reflect, reuse, and make something truly one-of-a-kind.
All Materials will be supplied.
We’ll be working with some messy (and fun!) materials, so we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little creative with. Smocks or aprons are totally optional—but they can be a great extra layer if you’d like!
